Can children sit a Cambridge exam in Primary 1?

Yes, from age 7. At the end of the year, children can sit their first Cambridge exam for children in KOKOland’s classrooms. Everyone is prepared; the family chooses whether to go ahead.

Does KOKOland have a pathway structured year by year?

Yes. The KOKOland pathway runs from age 1 to 18 and is divided into stages designed for each age: Babies 1 (age 1) and Babies 2 (age 2); Stars 1 (age 3), Stars 2 (ages 4 and 5) and Stars 3 (age 6); Primary 1 (age 7), Primary 2 (age 8) and Primary 3 (ages 9 and 10); Junior 1 (age 11) and Junior 2 (ages 12 and 13); Teens 1 (age 14), Teens 2 (age 15) and Teens 3 (ages 16 to 18). Each level has its own goal for the year, and children move up one level at a time, together with their peers.

Speaking, reading, writing: English becomes theirs on paper too.

Primary 1 is the level for 7-year-olds. It’s the year of foundations: the English the child has learned to love also becomes reading and writing.

120 minutes a week: dynamic learning + Creative Lab

The dynamic learning session

60 minutes with classmates the same age, up to 6. Speaking, reading, writing, team games on the interactive whiteboard: more structure than Stars, the same rhythm. In such a small group, everyone speaks, gets things wrong, tries again, and no one is left behind.

The Creative Lab

60 minutes of projects, experiments, stories to invent and team challenges, together with children from the other Primary levels: 10 to 16 per group, with two native-speaker or bilingual teachers. This is where the English learned in the dynamic learning sessions becomes a tool for creating, building, persuading.

The second session of the week

The Creative Lab: English you do with your hands.

60 minutes to cook, act, experiment and celebrate in English. For children aged 7 to 10, with native-speaking or bilingual teachers. The second weekly session is included in the pathway.
