Parties to the processing
The data controller is KOKOLAND S.R.L., with registered office at Via dei Cedri 3/A, 74015 Martina Franca (TA), VAT number and tax code 03495700738, REA TA-262580, which operates the KOKOland English School brand and its schools in Martina Franca (Via dei Cedri 3/A) and Monopoli (Via Fiume 6, 70043 Monopoli, BA).
For any request regarding the processing of personal data, and to exercise the rights set out in Articles 15 to 22 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection), you can write to info@kokoland.it or, using certified email (PEC), to kokoland@pec.it. You always retain the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it).
Legal basis for processing
This website processes data mainly on the basis of users' consent. Consent is given through the banner at the bottom of the page, or through use of or browsing the site, as conclusive conduct. By using or browsing the site, visitors and users accept this privacy notice and consent to the processing of their personal data in the manner and for the purposes described below, including any disclosure to third parties where necessary to provide a service. Additional consents relating to the specific purpose of a service are collected through contact or service request forms.
Providing data, and therefore consent to its collection and processing, is optional: the User may withhold consent, and may withdraw previously given consent at any time (through the banner at the bottom of the page, the browser's cookie settings, or the Contact link). However, withholding consent may make it impossible to provide certain services, and the browsing experience on the site would be affected.
Data used for site security and to prevent abuse and SPAM, as well as data used for site traffic analysis (statistics) in aggregate form, are processed on the basis of the data controller's legitimate interest in protecting the site and its users. In these cases, the user always has the right to object to the processing of their data (see the User rights section).
Purposes of processing
In addition to the purposes connected with, instrumental to and necessary for providing the service, data collected by the site is processed for the following purposes:
– Statistics (analytics)
Collection of data and information in exclusively aggregated and anonymous form, to verify that the site is working correctly. None of this information is linked to the individual User of the site, and it does not allow the User to be identified in any way. Consent is not required.
– Security
Collection of data and information to protect the security of the site (anti-spam filters, firewall, virus detection) and of Users, and to prevent or detect fraud or abuse against the website. This data is recorded automatically and may include personal data (IP address), which may be used, in accordance with applicable law, to block attempts to damage the site itself or to harm other users, or any other harmful or unlawful activity. This data is never used to identify or profile the User and is deleted periodically. Consent is not required.
– Ancillary activities
Sharing data with third parties that perform functions necessary or instrumental to the operation of the service (e.g. comment boxes), and enabling third parties to carry out technical, logistical and other activities on our behalf. Suppliers only have access to the personal data necessary to carry out their tasks, undertake not to use the data for other purposes, and are required to process personal data in accordance with applicable law.
Data collected
This site collects user data in two ways.
– Data collected automatically
While Users browse the site, the following information may be collected and stored in the site's server (hosting) log files:
– internet protocol (IP) address;
– browser type;
– parameters of the device used to connect to the site;
– the name of the internet service provider (ISP);
– date and time of the visit;
– the referring web page (referral) and the exit page;
– where applicable, the number of clicks.
This data is used for statistical and analytical purposes, exclusively in aggregated form. The IP address is used solely for security purposes and is not cross-referenced with any other data.
– Data provided voluntarily
The site may collect other data if users voluntarily choose to use certain services, such as comment services or communication services (contact forms, comment boxes), and this data will be used solely to provide the requested service:
– name;
– email address.
Place of processing
Data is processed at the data controller's registered office, and at the data centre of the web host, Aruba. The web host Aruba is the data processor, processing data on behalf of the data controller. Aruba is located within the European Economic Area and acts in accordance with European regulations.
Data retention period
Data collected by the site during its operation is kept for the time strictly necessary to carry out the activities described. Once this period has expired, the data will be deleted or anonymised, unless there are further grounds for keeping it.
Data (IP address) used for site security purposes (blocking attempts to damage the site) is kept for 30 days.
Data used for analytics (statistical) purposes is kept in aggregated form for 24 months.
Transfer of collected data to third parties
Data collected by the site is generally not disclosed to third parties, except in specific cases: a lawful request from the judicial authorities, and only in the cases provided for by law; where necessary to provide a specific service requested by the User; or to carry out security checks or optimise the site.
Transfer of data to non-EU countries
This site may share some of the data collected with services located outside the European Union. In particular, with Google, Facebook and Microsoft (LinkedIn) through social plugins and the Google Analytics service. This transfer is authorised under specific decisions of the European Union and the Italian Data Protection Authority, in particular Decision 1250/2016 (Privacy Shield – see the information page of the Italian Data Protection Authority), for which no further consent is required. The companies mentioned above guarantee their own adherence to the Privacy Shield.
Security measures
We process visitor/user data lawfully and fairly, adopting appropriate security measures designed to prevent unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction of data. We are committed to protecting the security of your personal data while it is being transmitted, using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, which encrypts information in transit. Processing is carried out using IT and/or telematic tools, with organisational methods and logic strictly related to the stated purposes. In addition to the data controller, in some cases data may be accessed by categories of personnel involved in running the site, or by external parties (such as third-party technical service providers and hosting providers).
Cookies
This site uses cookies, text files that are stored on the user's device, or that allow access to information on the user's device. Cookies make it possible to store information about visitors' preferences; they are used to check that the site is working correctly and to improve its functionality by customising page content according to the type of browser used, or to simplify browsing by automating certain procedures (e.g. login, site language), and finally to analyse how visitors use the site.
This site uses the following categories of cookies:
– technical cookies, used solely to carry out the transmission of an electronic communication, to ensure the site displays and functions correctly. They also make it possible to distinguish between different connected users, in order to provide a requested service to the right user (login), and for site security purposes. Some of these cookies are deleted when the browser is closed (session cookies), while others last longer (such as the cookie needed to store the user's consent regarding the use of cookies, which lasts 1 year). – profiling and marketing cookies, used exclusively by third parties other than the controller of this site to collect information on users' behaviour while browsing, and on their interests and consumption habits, including for the purpose of providing personalised advertising.

Third-party cookies
This site also acts as an intermediary for third-party cookies (such as social network buttons), used to provide visitors with additional services and functionality and to make the site easier to use, or to provide personalised advertising. This site has no control over these cookies, which are entirely managed by third parties, and does not have access to the information collected through them. Information on the use of these cookies and their purposes, as well as on how to disable them where possible, is provided directly by the third parties on the pages indicated below.
Please note that tracking users generally does not involve identifying them, unless the User is already registered with the service and is also already logged in, in which case it is understood that the User has already given their consent directly to the third party when signing up to that service (e.g. Facebook).
This site uses cookies from the following third parties.
– Google Inc.
For information on Google's use and processing of data, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy and to How Google Uses Data When You Use Our Partners' Sites or Apps.
– Google Analytics: used to analyse how users use the site, compile reports on site activity and user behaviour, check how often users visit the site, how the site is found, and which pages are visited most often. This information is combined with information collected from other sites in order to build a comparative picture of the site's use relative to other sites in the same category.
Data collected: browser identifier, date and time of interaction with the site, referring page, IP address.
Place of data processing: European Union, since the service's anonymisation feature is enabled.
The data collected does not allow users to be personally identified, and is not cross-referenced with other information relating to the same person. It is processed in aggregated and anonymised form (truncated at the last octet). Under a specific data processing agreement (DPA), Google Inc. (as data processor) is prohibited from cross-referencing this data with data obtained from other services.

The user can selectively disable (opt out) data collection by Google Analytics by installing the relevant browser add-on provided by Google (opt-out).
– YouTube: a video-sharing platform owned by Google. Cookies are set when a page containing the embed is accessed, and when the video is started, and do not allow the User to be identified unless they are already logged into their Google account.
For videos on this site, the "enhanced privacy (no cookie)" option has been enabled, which means YouTube does not store information about visitors unless they voluntarily play the video.
Data collected: number and behaviour of service users, IP address, information linking visits to the site to the Google account for users already logged in, video display preferences.
Place of data processing: USA.
Social Network Plugins
This site also includes plugins and/or buttons to make it easy to share content on your favourite social networks. When you visit a page on our website that contains a plugin, your browser connects directly to the servers of the social network from which the plugin is loaded, and that server may track your visit to our website and, where applicable, link it to your social media account, particularly if you are logged in at the time of your visit or have recently browsed one of the websites containing social plugins. If you do not want the social network to record data relating to your visit to our website, you should log out of your social media account and, most likely, delete the cookies that the social network has placed in your browser.
This site has installed plugins with enhanced privacy protection features for Users, which do not send cookies or access cookies already present in the User's browser when the page is opened, but only after the plugin has been clicked.

User rights
Under European Regulation 679/2016 (GDPR), the User may, in the manner and within the limits set out in applicable law, exercise the following rights:

– to request confirmation of the existence of personal data concerning them (right of access);
– to know its origin;
– to receive it communicated in an intelligible form;
– to obtain information on the logic, methods and purposes of the processing;
– to request that it be updated, rectified, supplemented, erased, converted into anonymous form, or blocked if processed in breach of the law, including data that is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected;
– in cases of processing based on consent, to receive, at no more than the cost of any medium used, the data they provided to the controller, in a structured format that can be read by a data processing device and in a format commonly used by an electronic device;
– the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority (Garante Privacy – link to the Garante's page);
– as well as, more generally, to exercise all rights recognised to them under applicable law.
