KOKO Stars
KOKO Stars is KOKOland's English pathway for children aged 3 to 6. Every week there are two 60-minute sessions: dynamic learning with children of the same level, in groups of up to 6 formed by age, and a Creative Lab where English becomes cooking, yoga, gardening and celebration.

Cooking, gardening, yoga, art, drama, experiments and music: English becomes a way to create and do things together. Mixed-age groups of 10 to 16 children, with 2 native-speaking or bilingual teachers.

Discover dynamic learningThe first thing we do is build a positive relationship with the language. At KOKOland, English is an enjoyable activity, not something imposed: children feel involved, listened to, capable. In a group of up to 6, everyone takes part and no one is left behind. And once a child is hooked, learning comes naturally.
No desks. That's no accident. At this age, children learn with their whole body: sitting in a circle on cushions, standing up to dance, touching, singing, listening to a story. English is the language of everything that happens in the classroom, from the first “Hello!” to the last “Bye bye!”.
Inside our method
Dynamic learning is the first session of the week: 60 minutes with children of the same level, always split by age: Stars 1 (age 3), Stars 2 (ages 4 and 5) and Stars 3 (age 6). At its heart is the theme of the week, which KOKOland's own method repeats in many different forms. Activities change roughly every 15 minutes: that way, the same words come back again and again, without ever getting boring.
The ingredients are always the same, blended differently depending on age:
Designed for younger children: touching, dragging, matching sounds and pictures, taking turns.
With illustrated stories, pictures to point at and small games on the page.
Which fix words in place through rhythm and movement.
In a circle or in teams, to put what they've just heard straight into use.
Everything is designed for today's children, used to fast-moving stimuli: in those 60 minutes there's no time to get bored, and attention stays high from the first minute to the last. That's the goal of every session: 100% of their attention.
The method never stands still: we update it every year, and it grows with the children. In Stars 1, movement and songs take centre stage; in Stars 3, there's more room for the book, longer stories and first letters.
Hands at work. English that stays.
The second session of the week is the Creative Lab: 60 minutes where English is used for real things, like cooking, planting, moving, celebrating. Here children aren't split by age: Stars 1, Stars 2 and Stars 3 work together, in groups of 10 to 16 children, with 2 native-speaker or bilingual teachers.
It's a deliberate teaching choice. In the dynamic learning session, children stay with their own level; in the Creative Lab, they meet children older and younger than themselves. The younger ones watch the older ones and do the same activity, each in their own way; the older ones become role models and learn to help. Mixed ages help everyone grow.

The Creative Lab isn't an extra, and it isn't bought separately: it's half of the KOKO Stars pathway. A lab like this, with mixed ages and two native-speaker or bilingual teachers, is part of KOKOland's own method: we built it ourselves.
Milestones, year after year
The goals follow Cambridge's benchmarks for young learners and build year on year. At this age, the CEFR level (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) isn't measured through an exam: children build the foundations that lead to Pre A1, the first level of Cambridge certification.

The most important goal isn't in a table: children who love English, understand it and aren't afraid to use it.
In KOKO Stars, children work with Cambridge materials, but there are no exams at this age: first, the foundations are built. The first exams come from age 7, with KOKO Primary, and are sat on site, in the same classrooms where children learn every week: their comfort zone.
The exam isn't the finish line of the pathway. It's an extra opportunity: every child is prepared, the teaching team suggests the right level, and the family chooses whether to go ahead. Everything about Cambridge exams
An independent school and its method
KOKOland is an independent school, founded in 2022. We're not a franchise: every decision is made here, with the children in our classrooms in mind.

The journey continues
KOKO Stars is one stage on the KOKOland pathway, which runs from age 1 to 18. Children coming from KOKO Babies find Koko, the songs and the same spaces again; at age 7, they move on to KOKO Primary, where reading and writing grow and the first Cambridge exams arrive.
