Babies 1: English for 1-year-olds
The first “hello” is learned in mum and dad’s arms.
Babies 1 is the level for 1-year-olds, who come to class with a parent. The first step of the KOKOland pathway: everything happens through songs, movement, objects to touch and Koko’s stories.
The goal of the year
Making English a familiar sound of home.
By the end of the year in Babies 1, every child:
Recognises Koko’s songs and dances along to them
Follows the session routine and knows what comes next
Responds with gestures and smiles to the first English words
Enjoys 45 minutes of play every week with mum or dad, all to themselves

45 minutes a week with a parent + 2 sensory labs a month
The session with a parent
45 minutes in which mum or dad are right there, inside the play: singing, dancing, touching the materials, listening to Koko’s stories. The parent is the safe harbour the child sets out from to explore, and 45 minutes without a phone become quality time together.
The sensory labs
Twice a month, a special experience: colours, sounds, textures, little experiments. English arrives through the hands, the eyes and the ears.

Every year has its milestone
From 1 to 18, a goal for every stage. They grow one step at a time, always alongside children their own age.

Babies 1: answers for families
Yes, if it’s done the right way. At age 1, children absorb the sounds of a language through play, not study. In Babies 1, the parent is in the classroom and no one has to speak: children listen, watch, touch and move.
